A New Breed of Bike Shop!
“One guy complained on Yelp that our selection of parts and bikes is limited. That’s true, but I don’t see why this is a bad thing.”
Ty Hathaway is one of the three owners of the Golden Saddle Cyclery. He stands in the middle of the small bike shop near Sunset Boulevard in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles, and explains: “We simply sell the products we like and believe in.”
The products on display in the shop reflect this attitude. I can tell that the bits and pieces of bike parts and cycling related stuff are carefully selected, guided by personal taste and functionality. Some items are picked for the way they work, others for the way they look. But most are picked for both.
